Luigi Protecting His Balls

Oil on paper, 22 x 16 in., 2011 Private collection Luigi Puglisi (2003-2015) was my Dachshund muse for several works. He redefined the meaning of mischief. Lucia & Concetta

Lucia & Concetta

Oil on canvas, 2014. Private collection. From a photograph of wet specimen conjoined twins found in Italy. These conjoined sisters from the 19th century captured my imagination, excited by the grotesque. I named them Lucia and Concetta. Lucia (left), with her knowing look, is protective of Concetta (right). The sisters embrace--their little hands visible on the other's shoulder.
